Summary

  • Trump Media moved Bitcoin valued at $204 million to Crypto.com addresses.
  • This is the first significant transfer to Crypto.com in four months.
  • The company's shares have risen nearly 1% today but are down 70% compared to their 52-week peak.

According to blockchain analytics firm Arkham, Bitcoin addresses linked to Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT) transferred over 2,650 BTC, equivalent to roughly $204 million, to addresses associated with Crypto.com late Thursday night.

The substantial transfer occurred through two transactions around 8 p.m. ET. The reasons behind this move remain unclear, and a spokesperson for the company did not respond promptly to Decrypt’s inquiry. Typically, transfers to centralized exchanges may indicate a potential asset sale.

Last year, the publicly traded company acquired $2 billion in Bitcoin and Bitcoin-related securities to shield itself from what it described as “discrimination by financial institutions.”

Currently, Bitcoin addresses connected to Trump Media hold approximately $533 million in BTC, as reported by Arkham. Earlier in the year, the firm transferred about 3.2 BTC, valued at $245,000, to Crypto.com.

Recently, the firm announced total assets of about $2.1 billion but reported a net loss of nearly $406 million in Q1 2026, primarily due to “non-cash losses, including unrealized losses on digital assets and equity securities.”

When the firm first revealed its Bitcoin purchase last July, Bitcoin was priced around $119,000. Recently, it has been trading at $76,657, reflecting a 0.6% decline in the past 24 hours and a 3.3% drop over the last week.

As of Friday, shares of the Trump-backed DJT have increased nearly 1%, trading at $8.02. However, this price represents a decline of more than 39% year-to-date and is 70% lower than its 52-week high of $27.00.

Earlier this week, the company, which also owns the social media platform Truth Social, withdrew its application for Bitcoin and Bitcoin/Ethereum ETFs.
