World Liberty Financial, associated with former President Donald Trump, is collaborating with an AI enterprise that provides models from Chinese tech companies flagged by his administration for national security reasons, as reported by Reuters on Monday.
As per Reuters, the partnership aims to enhance the reach of World Liberty's USD1 stablecoin, which is accepted by WorldClaw for accessing its AI models. Ryan Fang, an executive at World Liberty, also serves as an advisor to WorldClaw.

David Wachsman, a spokesperson for World Liberty, emphasized that WorldClaw operates independently and pointed out that significant U.S. companies also offer AI models from both Chinese and American sources. "This is a common and widely accepted approach," Wachsman told Reuters.
In January 2025, Z.ai, previously known as Zhipu AI, was placed on the Commerce Department’s Entity List, limiting its access to U.S. technology. In June, the Pentagon designated Alibaba and Baidu as “Chinese Military Companies Operating in the United States,” preventing the Defense Department from engaging in business with them.
An Alibaba representative refuted the military designation, stating, "Alibaba is not a Chinese military company nor part of any military-civil fusion strategy," labeling the classification as "arbitrary and capricious," and indicating plans to contest it legally.
The financial specifics regarding the Trump family's earnings from WorldClaw remain unclear. Ryan Fang advises WorldClaw, while Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have actively promoted the venture.

This development arises as various Chinese AI firms available through WorldClaw face accusations of conducting distillation attacks against U.S. AI developers.
In February, Anthropic accused DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, and MiniMax of employing approximately 24,000 fraudulent accounts to generate over 16 million exchanges of their Claude model through a process known as distillation, where one AI learns from another's outputs. In June, Anthropic called on Congress to impose stricter export controls and penalize extensive model extraction.
"We believe combating the threat of illicit distillation requires coordinated action between government and industry, and we will continue working with Congress and the administration to maintain American AI leadership," stated an Anthropic spokesperson to Decrypt.
