In June 2026, the net outflow of stablecoins from South Korea's five largest cryptocurrency exchanges — Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, and Gopax — to foreign platforms reached 560.3 billion won (approximately $367 million), marking the 18th consecutive month of outflows.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service, exchanges transferred 2.7 trillion won in stablecoins abroad while receiving 2.2 trillion won in return. Market participants attribute these transfers to the demand for products unavailable domestically, including foreign derivatives, real-world assets (RWA), decentralized finance (DeFi), and staking opportunities.
