Solana Mobile has opened access to its Solana Mobile Stack (SMS) software platform for third-party Android smartphone manufacturers. This integration will enable the addition of native Web3 features to any mobile device.

According to a press release, the installation of the toolkit does not interfere with Google Play services and does not affect device security certification. SMS supports MediaTek and Qualcomm processors.

The Solana Mobile Stack consists of three core components:

  1. Seed Vault. A cold storage system for keys that integrates directly into the phone's secure hardware chip. Transaction confirmations occur via fingerprint or facial recognition.
  2. Seeker Wallet. A built-in non-custodial wallet that allows users to store, buy, and send digital assets, including stablecoins.
  3. dapp Store. Provides direct access to decentralized applications, enabling users to trade cryptocurrencies and earn through staking.

Representatives from Solana Mobile emphasized that integrating SMS creates a new revenue stream for smartphone manufacturers. Companies can earn a percentage from transaction and staking fees within the ecosystem. To retain users and balance interests, the platform utilizes the SKR token.

Solana Mobile has tested the stack on 200,000 Seeker smartphones. According to the developers, the ecosystem boasts over 85,000 active wallets weekly, with transaction volumes exceeding $5 billion.

As a reminder, on January 21, the SKR token was launched along with an airdrop for Seeker owners.
