In the third quarter of 2026, trading in perpetual contracts related to Real World Assets (RWA) on decentralized exchanges (DEX) soared to $365 billion, marking a 32% increase quarter-over-quarter, according to CryptoRank. Nearly half of this volume, amounting to $175 billion (approximately 48%), was attributed to contracts on public equities. Despite reaching a record $141 billion in July, the monthly trading volume experienced a decline for two consecutive months thereafter. The total open interest in perpetual RWA contracts accounted for about 24% of the overall figure on decentralized platforms, compared to roughly 6% at the start of the year.
