Unknown hackers have breached the social media accounts of trader Keith Gill, known as Roaring Kitty. The attackers posted the contract address for the meme coin RKC, leading to a sharp spike in its price.

According to Lookonchain, the coin's creators had prepared for the dump in advance. They distributed 20 SOL ($1,950) across ten wallets and purchased nearly 40% of the RKC supply. After the posts were made on Gill's accounts, the developers sold the tokens for 5,071 SOL ($495,000).
Additionally, the creators earned 1,209 SOL ($118,000) in transaction fees. The total profit amounted to approximately $611,000.
Initially, the page posted the address of the Solana token along with an image of a cat wearing a red scarf. Later, a photo of a hand with a red bandage appeared — a symbol Gill used during the GameStop saga in 2021. Both posts were deleted within half an hour.
Following the dump, RKC's price plummeted by 90%. The incident also affected GameStop shares, which rose by 13% before quickly correcting.

Gill became a key figure in the "war" of retail investors against hedge funds in 2021. Since then, his posts have triggered significant volatility in various assets.
It’s worth noting that in June 2024, journalists identified signs of market manipulation in Roaring Kitty's actions.
