The European consortium QUARTERNEXT has initiated a four-year project aimed at developing and certifying quantum key distribution systems. The project is coordinated by the Spanish company Luxquanta, with participants including Quside, Chilas, fragmentiX, Telefónica, and the Austrian Institute of Technology.

This project is funded under the Digital Europe program and is part of the European initiative EuroQCI, which aims to establish a secure communication infrastructure. The team will focus on CV-QKD technology, which enables the transmission of cryptographic keys over fiber-optic networks using quantum effects.
