Quantum eMotion (QNC) has officially submitted its eCore-Q PCIe for assessment under the NIST Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP). This evaluation follows a preliminary review conducted by Lightship Security. Should the module pass the evaluation, it will be certified according to the SP 800-90B standard, allowing its integration into systems that meet FIPS 140-3 requirements.
Francis Bellido, CEO of QNC, highlighted the importance of independent validation in fostering customer confidence and gaining entry into regulated markets. The technology underpinning the eCore-Q PCIe is derived from a patented quantum random number generator. However, while the submission marks the start of the CMVP process, it does not assure specific results or timelines.
