Paris investigators have once again interrogated Telegram founder Pavel Durov regarding alleged complicity in criminal activities via the messaging platform. This was reported by TF1 Info citing the AFP agency.

According to the publication, on July 8, the programmer arrived at the Paris judicial tribunal, where he was questioned for about six hours. This marks the fourth interrogation of the entrepreneur in nearly two years since the charges were brought and he was placed under judicial supervision.

Durov was detained at Paris airport on August 24, 2024. A few days later, the court released him on bail of €5 million.

The French investigation is examining the role Telegram may have played in the platform's use for criminal purposes. Authorities have linked the case to weak moderation of illegal content and insufficient cooperation with the investigation.

Durov's lawyers told AFP that since the charges were filed, law enforcement has failed to find evidence supporting the claims.

They stated that the defense has filed appeals in French and European courts.

“The only change since Durov's detention in France is that the French authorities have begun to properly submit requests to Telegram,” representatives of the messaging service commented to journalists.

It is worth noting that in August 2025, Durov described his arrest in France as a "legal absurdity." He stated that the investigation had not uncovered any evidence of his guilt or violations by Telegram.
