FinanceBrazil's largest bitcoin treasury firm, OranjeBTC, is set to introduce an exchange-traded fund (ETF) named DIGY11, which will allocate 95% of its assets to Strategy's STRC preferred shares and the remaining 5% to Strive's SATA shares.
DIGY11 aims for annual distributions matching Brazil’s interbank rate plus 3–5 percentage points, net of costs, though investors' actual returns are not guaranteed.
With the intention of providing monthly income, DIGY11 will seek to distribute returns equivalent to Brazil’s Interbank Deposit Certificate (CDI) rate of 14.15%, plus an additional 3–5 percentage points, after accounting for estimated costs of 1.30%. The ETF will employ a hedging strategy through monthly foreign exchange forwards to manage dollar exposure and will charge a management fee of 0.90%. Trading is expected to begin in early September.
Currently, STRC and SATA, which provide ongoing U.S. dollar distributions, offer yields of 12.5% and 13.1%, respectively. It's noteworthy that the bitcoin holdings of these companies remain on their balance sheets and are not used as collateral for preferred shareholders.
OranjeBTC, which possesses 3,950 BTC valued at approximately $250 million, has stated that the anticipated annual distributions will be contingent on the performance of the preferred shares and the interest rate disparity between Brazil and the U.S., according to Sam Callahan, the company's Director of Strategy and Research.
The management of the portfolio will be handled by 3R Investimentos, while MarketVector will oversee the benchmark index.
Despite the launch of similar investment products abroad receiving minimal attention, Brazil already boasts a well-established market for listed cryptocurrency products. As of April 2025, crypto funds and ETFs collectively managed 13.7 billion reais (around $2.6 billion) among approximately 576,000 investors.
OranjeBTC has yet to announce a specific date for the DIGY11 listing but anticipates trading will commence shortly after the beginning of September.
