  • Ondo Finance has appointed Adam Schlisman, previously of Blockchain.com, as its chief financial officer.
  • Schlisman was most recently CFO at Monashee Investment Management.
  • This recruitment aligns with Ondo's expansion of its tokenized securities platform, which has already exceeded $1 billion in total value locked (TVL).

Ondo Finance has brought on Adam Schlisman, a former executive at Blockchain.com, to take on the role of chief financial officer as the company enhances its financial operations in response to the rising adoption of onchain capital markets, according to a company announcement made on Wednesday.

Schlisman transitions from his role as CFO at Monashee Investment Management, a global macro hedge fund.

Previously, he held the position of CFO at Blockchain.com where he managed finance, treasury, and risk during significant growth for the firm. He also dedicated almost ten years to Graham Capital Management, focusing on portfolio management and risk assessment.

Founded in 2021 by former Goldman Sachs professionals, Ondo is now recognized as a leading platform for tokenized real-world assets, including blockchain-based U.S. Treasuries and stocks, boasting over $3.5 billion across its offerings.

The sector of tokenization is rapidly evolving within the cryptocurrency landscape as traditional financial institutions strive to transition conventional assets onto blockchain technologies. An increasing number of banks, asset managers, and crypto-focused firms are issuing tokenized versions of Treasuries, money market funds, private credit, and equities, anticipating that such technologies will enhance settlement efficiency, broaden market access, and facilitate continuous trading.

“Ondo has reached a pivotal moment that every finance leader aspires to achieve,” Schlisman commented in an email. “With Ondo Stocks surpassing $1 billion in TVL and the development of Ondo Perps, alongside collaborations with established market infrastructure providers like DTCC, it’s clear that tokenized markets are progressing from initial adoption to institutional maturity. My goal is to establish financial operations that can grow in tandem with this evolution,” he added.

This new appointment is part of Ondo's strategy to expand the financial framework that underpins its tokenized-assets operations, which the firm indicates is transitioning from early adoption to a wider institutional application.

Ondo's platform is accessible on Solana, Ethereum, and BNB Chain and is integrated with various exchanges, wallets, and custodians, including Binance, Bitget, MetaMask, Ledger, and Blockchain.com.

Recently, CoinDesk reported that Ondo is considering a potential acquisition valued between $250 million and $500 million, according to sources familiar with the situation.
