Oman has launched a national mining pool that all licensed cryptocurrency miners in the country must join. The project is initiated by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology of Oman in collaboration with Frontier Technologies; Enegix Global provided the technological platform and liquidity infrastructure.
In its first phase, the pool aims to aggregate around 10 EH/s of computational power. Since 2022, investments in mining and data center infrastructure in the Salalah free zone have exceeded $700 million, including a $370 million hydro-cooled mining facility.
