MSCI has introduced a new methodology aimed at identifying companies that have effectively become holders of non-operational assets. Modeling based on data from May indicated that Strategy, Metaplanet, and uranium investment firm Yellow Cake could potentially be removed from the indexes.
JPMorgan previously estimated that if such a scenario were to occur, there could be a passive outflow of approximately $2.8 billion from Strategy's securities. However, no decision has been finalized yet — MSCI is currently gathering feedback until September 30, with results expected on October 16.
