Japanese company Metaplanet has announced plans to issue zero-coupon convertible bonds worth 52 billion yen (approximately $329 million) with a maturity date set for 2031. Of the capital raised, around $149 million will be allocated to repay loans secured by Bitcoin, while up to $179 million will be used for share buybacks. This move aims to reduce the company's reliance on loans backed by digital assets without liquidating its cryptocurrency reserves, which totaled 44,000 BTC as of the end of September.
