Starting July 1, Meta will implement additional charges for advertising accounts whose ads are displayed to users in certain jurisdictions. The company cited digital service taxes and other local fees as the reason for this measure.

The fee will depend on the audience's location rather than the advertiser's business location: 5% in Austria and Turkey, 3% in France, Italy, and Spain, and 2% in the United Kingdom. Meta noted that the list of jurisdictions and the fee amounts may change.
