The FBI has arrested John Daghita, suspected of stealing $46 million in digital assets from a cryptocurrency wallet belonging to the U.S. Marshals Service. His identity was revealed in late January by on-chain investigator ZachXBT.

According to FBI Director Kash Patel, the suspect was apprehended on Saint Martin with the assistance of French law enforcement.
U.S. authorities took just over a month to respond to ZachXBT's investigation. The investigator tracked Daghita down after he boasted in a Telegram chat, using the alias Lick, where he revealed his wallet. From there, ZachXBT traced the movement of the stolen funds.
The stolen assets were linked to a U.S. government seizure related to the Bitfinex case.
According to ZachXBT, the arrested individual is the son of Dean Daghita, CEO of CMDSS. The firm signed a contract with the Marshals Service in 2024 to assist in managing certain seized cryptocurrencies.
In his post, the FBI director referred to Daghita Jr. as a "government contractor," although his specific role at CMDSS remains unclear.
Following the arrest, ZachXBT shared a separate post, stating that the suspect abused his access at his father's company to commit the crime.
John Daghita (Lick) was arrested in the Caribbean yesterday as a direct result of my investigation.

“John [Daghita] repeatedly mocked me through his Telegram channel and attacked my public wallet with the stolen funds. Thanks for the last laugh,” the on-chain investigator added.
It’s worth noting that in February, ZachXBT accused Axiom trading platform manager Brooks Bauer of leaking user data for insider trading.
