Japan plans to create a national artificial intelligence model for robots and deploy around 10 million AI robots across 18 industries by 2040. The project has been assigned to the Noetra consortium and the AIST research institute.
The program is set for the 2026–2030 fiscal years. According to CNA, the government may allocate up to 1 trillion yen (approximately $6.1 billion) for the initiative over five years. The first version of the model is expected to be ready in the current fiscal year.
