IBM has announced an extension of its collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). IISc will focus on developing algorithms that integrate quantum computers with supercomputers for scientific computations, alongside AI tools aimed at the energy sector. Meanwhile, IIT Bombay will concentrate on language models tailored for Indian languages, multimodal AI, and enhancing the performance of large models. These partnerships, which began in 2018 and 2021, also encompass AI agents and the infrastructure necessary for establishing sovereign artificial intelligence systems in India.
