The digital division of Thailand's energy giant Gulf Development, Gulf Edge, has partnered with the AI project Kore.ai. The collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence in Thailand, according to a press release.

As part of this partnership, Gulf Edge will utilize the Kore.ai platform to develop neural network-based solutions tailored to the needs of key sectors in the country, including:

  • telecommunications;
  • banking;
  • insurance;
  • healthcare;
  • government.

The primary goals of their joint efforts will be to enhance customer experience, optimize operations, and scale new technologies across enterprises.

“We are laying the foundation for an AI future in Southeast Asia, starting with Thailand. Our partnership with Kore.ai connects our infrastructure and expertise with their enterprise platform to accelerate the real implementation of artificial intelligence,” said Gulf Development CEO Sarat Ratanawadi.

According to representatives from both companies, Thailand is emerging as one of the fastest-growing AI markets in the region. Forecasts suggest that by 2030, the sector will reach $3.5 billion, with an annual growth rate of 28%.

Key drivers include active adoption by companies and significant investments in AI infrastructure from both the government and the private sector.

In late March, Microsoft announced a $1 billion investment in developing cloud infrastructure and AI solutions in Thailand, including the construction of data centers in the country.

Additionally, in June 2025, Thai authorities promised to introduce AI regulations to ensure they do not fall behind in progress.
