Biohub has announced new partners for its Virtual Biology initiative, aimed at developing open biological data for AI training. Meta, Google DeepMind, and Isomorphic Labs will contribute $300 million, while the U.S. Department of Energy plans to invest over $500 million over five years. Additionally, the National Institutes of Health will provide access to data sets generated from federal funding exceeding $500 million. The first dataset is expected to be released in about a year, and predictive models of biological processes are anticipated within five years.
