Flat Earth supporters are citing AI-generated videos to claim that NASA fabricated footage from the Artemis II mission recorded by astronauts. This was reported by Futurism.

For decades, conspiracy theorists have insisted that NASA's lunar missions since 1969 were faked, and the latest flight is no exception.

This time, skeptics are using fake videos created with artificial intelligence as "evidence" for their claims.

One such video shows a team of four people suspended by safety harnesses in front of a large green screen. The video features glitches in the overlay text, missing limbs, and an incorrect number of fingers on some hands.

Another video shows a shot from inside the spacecraft, where the camera captures four astronauts, raising the question: who is operating the camera?

Disinformation expert Tal Hagin emphasized that the content is AI-generated.

Due to several anomalies, I believe this video is actually an AI-spliced video using 2 different images.

The first image used was this screenshot of the Artemis II crew waving, while the second is an image taken of earth from one of the windows — AI was used to connect the 2. https://t.co/lFjvVg1BlP pic.twitter.com/uTqy4zeyth

The scale of this trend is significant. A search for the keywords "Artemis leaks" on X shows how widespread the phenomenon is — from images of a fake moon hanging in front of a green screen to claims that NASA used AI and computer graphics to mislead the global community.

Facebook reflects a similar situation, with Flat Earth supporters referencing AI-generated materials to argue that the space mission was faked.

It’s worth noting that in 2024, scammers used deepfake technology to swap faces with attractive women during video calls, deceiving love-struck men into "investing" in cryptocurrencies.
