On October 6, Ethereum developers deployed the Glamsterdam update on the Sepolia testnet, marking a significant step towards the upcoming hard fork for the main network. This update introduces modifications to the proposal and builder separation mechanism (ePBS), block-level access lists (BAL), and a revision of operation costs. During testing, the target gas limit has been increased from approximately 60 million to 200 million, more than tripling the previous limit. Following Sepolia, the developers intend to test Glamsterdam on the Hoodi network, with its activation tentatively scheduled for October 27. The launch date for the mainnet update has yet to be determined.
