Political committees linked to the crypto industry have disclosed expenditures exceeding $8 million on media support for candidates ahead of the primaries on June 23 in New York, Maryland, and Utah. The bulk of this spending was attributed to the Protect Progress committee, associated with Fairshake.

Protect Progress allocated over $5.5 million to support Adrian Boafo in Maryland's 5th district and more than $1.4 million to Richie Torres's campaign in New York's 15th district. Boafo's opponents have urged him to reject external support, labeling the spending as contributions from "crypto billionaires" and other special interests.
