The ChatGPT chatbot from OpenAI now features a plugin for Apple Messages on Mac, enabling users to search messages, view conversations, draft replies, and send responses.
Everyday conversations just got easier with the new Apple Messages plugin.

Developers suggest various use cases for the plugin, such as checking the calendar to invite someone for dinner next week, reminding users about messages from the previous day, or finding birthday dates.
Additionally, the plugin can delete messages and search through extensive chat history. It is suitable for both personal and professional tasks, integrated with Codex and ChatGPT Work on desktop.
This new feature has raised privacy concerns. OpenAI informed Bloomberg that the plugin operates locally on the device and "does not create an index of all user messages."
The company also cautioned that the always-on approval mode removes the final opportunity for users to review text before ChatGPT sends it on their behalf.
In July, reports revealed that OpenAI is planning to enter the consumer electronics market with a home "AI companion" in the form of a smart speaker.
