Jack Dorsey's company Block has agreed to pay $45 million to settle claims from regulators in nearly all U.S. states regarding Cash App. Prosecutors allege that the service misled users with safety claims and failed to adequately protect them from fraud.
As part of the settlement, Block will provide 24/7 live support, address fraud complaints, and cease making disputed safety claims about Cash App. The company did not admit to any violations and described the case as a previously disclosed legacy of past practices.
