Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has introduced a warm-up challenge called "Battle of Longs and Shorts" with a prize pool of $75,000 in Bitcoin and USDT. This competition will run from August 25 to September 9, 2026.
This challenge serves as a precursor to the annual King's Cup Global Invitational (KCGI) 2026, which boasts a total prize pool of $3 million. Participants are required to select a team (Long or Short) and trade futures in their chosen direction, with the team's total trading volume being the basis for scoring. The team with the higher volume will share $20,000 in BTC, while the losing side will receive a portion of $10,000 in BTC.
"The warm-up challenge allows participants to test their strategies, connect with like-minded individuals, and compete for real rewards before the main tournament begins," Bitget representatives stated.
Prize Distribution
In the winning team, rewards will depend on individual trading volumes:
- 1st place — $1,500 in BTC;
- 2nd place — $1,200 in BTC;
- 3rd place — $750 in BTC;
- 4th to 10th places — $150 in BTC each;
- Other participants — a share of $15,500 in BTC.
Only traders with a trading volume of at least 1 million USDT will qualify for the top ten. A minimum of 100,000 USDT is required to receive a share of the overall pool.
The losing team will distribute their $10,000 based on trading volumes, with a maximum of $100 per individual. The exchange will not process payments below $10 in BTC.
VIP Status Bonus
Bitget has set aside a separate pool of $45,000 for users who elevate their VIP status and maintain it for at least ten days. The reward amount increases with the VIP level. For transitioning from a regular account to VIP 1, a participant will receive a trading bonus of 100 USDT, while maintaining VIP 7 will yield $1,500 in BTC.

Participation Requirements
To join the competition, participants must click the button on the competition page and complete identity verification; otherwise, trading volumes will not be counted. Eligible contracts include USDT-M, USDC-M, and Coin-M perpetual contracts, excluding the USDC/USDT pair and CFDs.
The leaderboard updates every 15 minutes, displaying the top 20 trading volumes in real time. Complete rules and prize tables are available on the challenge page.
