Anthropic has sent senior technical staff to Washington to negotiate export restrictions on its AI models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5. This was reported by WSJ and Axios, citing sources.
According to Axios, the startup's technical experts have been holding virtual meetings with White House representatives since the administration's initial outreach. On June 12, U.S. authorities demanded a halt to access to the models for any foreign nationals both inside and outside the country, including foreign employees of Anthropic. The company stated that due to these requirements, it was forced to disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all users to comply with the directive.
