As Bitcoin maintains a steady price near $84,000, altcoins are experiencing notable gains, with 93 out of the 100 constituents of the CoinDesk 100 seeing increases. The altcoin season index has reached its highest level in over three months.

Quant Sees 39% Increase in 24 Hours

According to analysts, the price of Bitcoin is currently at $84,342, remaining unchanged since midnight UTC, after rising from below $63,000 in August to nearly $87,000 earlier this week. In the past 24 hours, the CoinDesk Computing Index has surged by 9.5%, while the DeFi Select Index has climbed 8.7%, significantly outperforming the blended benchmark's 2.5% increase.

Despite a major hack involving Bitget, which resulted in a loss of $351.6 million, the market has remained resilient. Bitget announced that a user protection fund of $464 million would cover the losses and that withdrawals are currently suspended for review.

The altcoin season index has improved to 56 out of 100, compared to 45 a week ago and 38 a month prior, indicating a favorable environment for altcoins following Bitcoin's recent price stabilization.

Notable performers include Chainlink, Internet Computer, and Bittensor, which contributed to the 9.5% rise in the CoinDesk Computing Index. Meanwhile, the DeFi sector has also shown strength, with gains across various tokens.
